Balmy Beach Lawn Bowling

What could be better?  A summer day.  Good friends.  Friendly competition. And the most important ingredient, fun!

One of the best things about Lawn Bowling is it doesn't require a lot of expensive equipment.  All you need is a pair of flat soled shoes, and you're on your way.  We will provide everything else you need to get you started off on the right foot.

Our Lawn Bowling section has many activities scheduled throughout the year. Wednesday Jitney's are a good way for new bowlers to get started.   We will also be offering lessons for new bowlers throughout the season.  Our club  tournaments take place throughout the summer, and information is posted in the Club House.

The Balmy Beach Lawn Bowling Club officially opened in August of 1905 with a tournament which began our long and exciting history.

The lands on which the bowling greens, clubhouse and the Main Club sit were originally owned by Sir Adam Wilson, one of twelve householders at the Beach.  In 1875, he deeded a parcel of land at the bottom of Beech Avenue for the enjoyment of the local residents.  In 1903, a Parliamentary Act declared this land the Balmy Beach Park, which was and still is administered by the Balmy Beach Park Commission.

Throughout the past 100  years, many outstanding bowlers have put the Balmy Beach Lawn Bowling Club on the map both Nationally and Internationally. Why not come out and give it a try?  Once you do, you'll find out what thousands already know.

THIS IS SOME SERIOUS FUN!

New members can meet at the Green – Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

You must be a member of the Balmy Beach Club to Lawn Bowl.
